TAFT, CA – It has been an outstanding season for Taft College Women's Volleyball. Head Coach Mallori Rossi and her Lady Cougars deserve everything they have accomplished this season. With a remarkable overall record of 26-4 and a second-place finish in the Central Valley Conference of 14-2, the Cougars plan to keep the ball rolling after winning 9 of their last 10 games.
It has been since 2005 that the Central Valley Conference has had five teams representing the conference. In 2005, there were only 16 teams allowed from the north participating in the first round seedings. It is evident that the strength of the conference is second to none.
Coach Rossi has her team seeded #5 playing in the second round of playoffs having a bye in the first round. Taft is ranked #11 in the final regular season State Women's Volleyball Top 25, as well as #5 in the NorCal division. Taft moved up five spots previously ranked #16.
Taft will play host to #12 seed Hartnell College (17-12) on Tuesday, November 26 at 5:00 pm at the Al Baldock Cougar Sports Center. The winner will play in the third round on November 30.
