The Taft College women's golf team opened up the 2019 tournament season with a home dual match against Reedley College at Buena Vista Golf Course in Taft. The Cougars played well to open the event, but ultimately fell to the Tigers by a score of 344-396.
"The day started off nicely but then the heat hit and the players started to struggle with their game," said Taft head coach Bruce Burroughs.
The bright side of the day was sophomore Sierra Pilgrim tying her career-low with an 85. Freshman Isabella Salazar Martinez also shot a career-low 112. Reedley was led by Serena DiMauro's 81.
