MISSION STATEMENT:
The Taft College Sports Medicine team is dedicated to providing high-quality medical care to student-athletes through prevention, emergency care, clinical diagnosis, therapeutic intervention and rehabilitation of injuries and medical conditions. The sports medicine staff is committed to continual advancement of knowledge and practices to provide the most current and comprehensive sports health care available. The health care team is a collaboration in support of our student athlete’s overall wellbeing and achievement.

VISION STATEMENT:
The Taft College Sports Medicine team is committed to providing the best possible medical care for its student-athletes and visiting athletic teams. Our certified athletic trainer is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association (NATA), which is recognized by the American Medical Association. The NATA was established for the purpose of advancing, assisting, and educating athletic trainers. Athletic Trainers (ATs) are highly qualified, multi-skilled health care professionals who collaborate with physicians to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all student athletes. The Taft College Athletic Trainer is committed to providing excellent individualized care services, along with educational and clinical opportunities to contribute to the health, learning and success of our diverse student athletes.

Al Baldock Cougar Sports Center Athletic Training Room

Athletic Training Room
Location: Al Baldock Cougar Sports Center
Hours: Typically, 9:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday. Schedule may vary depending on team practices and game schedules.

Injured athletes: Injury assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of athletic injuries only. Present to the Athletic Training Clinic and wait to be seen by the Certified Athletic Trainer. Taft College has one NATA (National Athletic Trainers Association) Certified Athletic Trainer. He is available as much as possible, however, we do ask for your patience as we treat each individual with the same respect in taking care of each injury.

The Athletic Training Clinic is a co-ed medical facility. Treat it as such. Do not wear cleats (metal or rubber) and come appropriately dressed (shirts, shorts, no bathing suits, no revealing clothing, etc.). If you have a leg injury of any type, please present to the Athletic Training Clinic with shorts on (we do have locker rooms for you to change in if you are wearing pants of any type to class).

Do not bring food or beverages, and no tobacco products of any kind, into the athletic training facility.
