
TAFT, CA – The Taft College Cougars Baseball Team played their last game of the season on Saturday, April 26 against the Reedley College Tigers.
Reedley took an early lead, scoring three runs in the 3rd inning. The Taft offense was cold until Karsen Spradling got things going as he singled on a hard hit ball to score Odnal Riviera to make it a 3-1 game. Reedley added a fourth run in the 8th inning on a sacrifice fly bringing the score to 4–1.
When all hope seemed lost, Taft made a dramatic turning point in the 9th inning, when the Cougars scored five runs. Roman Roberts hit a 2-RBI single and with some smart base running scored himself, tying the game at 4–4. Gaku Yamamoto and Aiden Otano followed with back-to-back RBI singles to capture the 6-4 lead.
Fabian Cruz would come in to shut the door and earn himself the win as the Taft College Cougars end their season with a big 9th inning comeback.
Taft College ended their season with an overall record of 16-24 and a conference record of 10-14.
