Taft College freshman Alyssa Irey shot 88 at Sunnyside Country Club in Fresno to lead the Cougars in a 330-424 loss to Reedley College in Conference Tournament #3 on Tuesday.
"The course was playing tough," said Taft head coach Bruce Burroughs. "The team had their hands full. The greens were very fast and the rough was thick."
Irey was the lone Cougar to break 100 on the day. Sierra Pilgrim shot 100, followed by Kayla Kaszycki (103), Isabella Martinez (133), and Aylinne Narvaez (151).
Reedley was once again led by Monica Yu who shot a five over-par 77.
The two teams return to action on Sep. 26 when Taft hosts Reedley in a non-conference match at Buena Vista Golf Club.
