TAFT, CA – On Wednesday, October 23, Taft College Volleyball challenged Reedley College. The Lady Cougars were promoting their annual Breast Cancer Awareness campaign and were hoping to bring another win to their record.
The Lady Cougars started strong winning the first 2 sets easily, 25-8 and 25-7. The Tigers weren't letting up in the third set, but ultimately the Cougars took it all in the third set 25-19. The Cougars put down 42 kills, 55 digs, and 39 assists.
"Our Pink Out game tonight wasn't just about playing volleyball- it was about showing strength, unity, and support for those who have, will, or are currently fighting breast cancer. Every game, every point is a reminder that together we can make a difference," said Taft College Head Women's Volleyball Coach Mallori Rossi.
Rossi went on to say, "We played a very efficient match, and the team unity is something that really stood out to me. It was clear that the team was playing for a greater purpose tonight."
The Cougars play their next game at home on October 25th against Merced College.
