TAFT, CA – Sophomore softball center/outfielder Isabella Carson from Taft College has officially signed her national letter of intent to continue her academic and athletic career to MidAmerica Nazarene University in Olathe, Kansas.
Mid America Nazarene competes in the NAIA (National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics). Last season, the Pioneers had a .500 record of 12-12 in the Heart of America Athletic Conference with an overall 21-27 season record.
Mid America Nazarene Head Softball Coach Jennifer Felvus commented, "We are excited to greet Bella into our program, and know her passion and commitment will serve our team and campus community well. We look forward to her impact."
Carson, who hails from St. George, Utah, was part of the outstanding growth process under new head softball coach Amanda Clark starting in 2023. The TC Cougars ended their first season last in the Central Valley Conference in 2024 and then established themselves the following season an instant force to be reckoned with in 2025 by playing in the post season at the state playoffs. Carson was instrumental during that transition.
Coach Amanda Clark shared her excitement, "We are excited to announce Isabella Carson's commitment to continue her education and softball career at MidAmerica Nazarene University. Bella has worked extremely hard to get to the next level and we are happy to see her take that next step. She has played both years at Taft and has moved around the field often. She started as a catcher for the Cougars and has stepped up to play 3rd and outfield. She brings a ton of energy to this team and remained positive even when injuries plagued her in the first season. With her tenacity and grit, she was awarded the "thug" award as she continued to push through and do what was needed for the team. You can always hear Bella out on the field no matter what is going on. We will miss her energy and encouragement next year as she was an integral part of our success this season."
