TAFT, CA – Taft College Softball has made it to postseason play. This will be their first time since 2017 entering playoff mode.
The Cougars finished the season with an overall record of 24-15 and a third place standing at 8-7 in the Central Valley Conference. Taft will be seeded #16 while playing the #1 seed at West Valley College. West Valley is #1 in the Coast Conference with a 12-2 record and 37-3 overall. The Vikings ended the season with a #2 state ranking in the California Community College Athletic Association, while two players Tyla Arbuckle and Dre DeJesus made it to the North All-State Team.
The games will be played this Friday, May 2 at 2:00 pm, Saturday at 12:00 pm, and if necessary, at 2:00 pm later that day. The winner of the 3-game series will move on to play the winner of #8 Fresno City College or #9 Consumnes River College.
The game will be streamed on the West Valley College Athletics YouTube channel.
Tickets will be available for pre-purchase through the box office beginning Monday afternoon. Tickets can also be purchased at the gate via credit card or Apple Pay. No cash will be accepted on site.
