Yareli Gomez enters her first year on Coach Lagmay's staff as an assistant women's basketball coach. Yareli played for three years at the varsity level at Tulare Union High School in Tulare, CA from 2019-2022. She then went on to play for Taft College from 2022-2024. In her sophomore year, she was part of Lagmay's first year as Taft's new coach where her squad had the #1 best turnaround record in the state of California. Her squad also tied the record for the most wins in a single season and most playoff wins in the postseason.

Yareli was voted 2024 2^nd Team All-Conference and was two-time Academic All-State in the 3C2A. She also was a participant of the 3C2A 2024 Sophomore Showcase.
