TAFT, CA – Taft College Women's Basketball standout Celicia Enos is the second player to sign her letter of intent to move on to the four-year level and continue her career athletically and academically. Enos has committed to play for Lincoln University in Oakland, California.
Lincoln University, led by 2024 Coach of the Year Aimee Langoria, is an independent institution that is in the process of transitioning into NCAA Division II. Last season, Lincoln held a 12-13 record, competing against all levels of NCAA Division I, II, III and NAIA. The Oaklanders made history last year going undefeated and winning in the Southwestern States Intercollegiate Conference (SWS).
Enos was one of four players that transferred to Taft College to finish out their sophomore seasons. Enos played an instrumental role in leading Taft to its first winning season in over 15 years. She was the second leading scorer in conference, voted First Team All-Conference, Academic All-Conference, and awarded an outstanding student-athlete of the Bakersfield Jockey Club. She also was a conference leader in rebounding and field goal percentage.
Lincoln Head Coach Langoria said, "Celicia is going to bring another level of success to our program. Her versatility as a player will not only help us get better on the court, but her high character, dedication and commitment to be successful will be a positive impact off the court as well."
Taft Head Coach Romeo Lagmay, Jr. shared his comments as well, "Ceci was a huge part of our success for TC women's basketball. Our assistant coach, Kris Groce, was instrumental in recruiting her to Cougar Nation. Our Taft family is super excited for her, and we believe that Lincoln got a steal for their program, as Ceci will do great things on the court and scholastically. It's an honor to be a part of her successful journey as a student-athlete and person overall."
