TAFT, CA – In a thrilling match on September 17, Tuesday evening, the Taft College Cougars Men's Soccer Team secured a narrow 1-0 victory over the College of the Desert, extending their winning streak to three victories after recent successes against Chaffee College and Allan Hancock.
The Cougars showcased their attacking prowess early, with standout plays from Emiliano Gonzalez and Diego Nunez leading to a penalty in the 38th minute. Lisandro Ceja confidently converted the penalty, giving Taft College a crucial lead going into halftime.
The College of the Desert intensified their efforts in the second half, but Taft College's defense, led by pivotal saves from goalkeeper Brian Tufino in the 53rd and 75th minute, held firm. Despite increased aggression from Desert, Taft College managed to preserve their slim lead and secure the victory.
