Taft College Baseball hosted the Vikings of Barstow on Saturday to wrap up the weekend round robin. Nick O'Connor took the mound and pitched 4 innings; surrendering 6 hits and 2 runs.
The Cougars offensive made a statement after yesterdays loss in the season opener with a 14 hit, 16 run performance.
Leftfielder Quintin Nakamura led the team offensively driving in 6 runs while going 3-for-5 with a single, double, and homer. Third baseman Kaivon Kealoha went 3-for-5 with two doubles and a home run for 3 RBI's.
Five more Cougars collected hits with Dayton Wilson, Richard Ortiz and Travis Turner each getting 2.
Kyler Shiflett earned the win tossing two innings and allowing no runs on 3 hits and 1 strikeout.
The Taft College Baseball team travels to LA Harbor on Friday for the first of a two game contest with the Seahawks at 2:00 PM.
