Title: Assistant Athletic Trainer

Trace Fleming has been hired by the Taft College Athletic department as the new assistant athletic trainer.

Fleming comes to Cougar Country after a brief stint as the head athletic trainer at California State University of Bakersfield. He started his career as an intern working with the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League during the fall and spring camps from 2018-2019. From there, he went to work on staff as an athletic assistant trainer at Fresno Pacific University with the volleyball and baseball teams from 2020-2022. After two years in Fresno, Fleming became the new head high school athletic trainer athletic at his alma mater at Central High School in Fresno in 2022-2024.

He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Kinesiology Science with an emphasis in Athletic Training from Fresno State University in 2020. Trace earned his my Master’s Degree in Applied Exercise Science from Concordia University in Chicago in 2023.

Fleming shared his excitement stating, “I am thrilled for this opportunity to come here and look forward to working together!”

Taft College Athletic Director Kanoe Bandy said, “I am so excited to have Trace join our Athletic Training staff.  Our student athletes are going to benefit by having another staff member available.  The health and safety of our student athletes is very important.”
