TAFT, CA - On Thursday, October 31, the Lady Cougars Golf Team played at Ridgecreek Golf Club in Dinuba. No better day than Halloween to play a round of golf. Unfortunately, due to illness and injuries, only two players were able to make it out to the match, but they gave it their all and persevered.
Felicia Contreras and Kara Gonzales both struggled a little bit, both shooting 105. Taft College Head Women's Golf Coach Romeo Lagmay, Jr. expressed his disappointment, "It's unfortunate the odds happening to our team, but I am very thankful for the two players that are hanging in there doing their best to fight through it. Felicia and Kara are committed individuals without excuses bar none. However, this program still holds them to a high standard, and falling behind in their scores is unacceptable. They both, and I, know they are better than what they were performing today. I believe the next match will prove that."
The next match will be on Tuesday, November 5th at Ridgecreek once again for a Northern California Conference Tournament. There is one more week till players will compete for the Regional Championship and State Qualifiers.
