The No.10 ranked Cougar women's team had another rough outing Tuesday with SoCal powerhouse Santa Barbara City College, losing 3-0 on the coast.
The Vaqueros outmuscled the Cougars for the second time this season. In early September they beat the Cougars in Taft, 4-1.
"They just have our number," said head coach Myisha Cutrona. "Their big girls just push us around and we can't seem to do anything about it."
SBCC has several international players on the roster.
The Vaqueros are unbeaten in their last eight outings (5-0-3) after starting 2-3-1. They are tied for second in the Western State North Division.
The numbers tell the tale.
Shots: SBCC 28, Taft 5
Shots on goal: SBCC 14, Taft 1
Corner kicks: SBCC 10, Taft 0
Saves: SBCC 1, Taft 9
All of the Cougar saves were by Hannah Tovar.
The Cougars have today off and will host undefeated Fresno City College next Tuesday in a Central Valley Conference crucial. The Rams are No. 2 in the state and No. 1 in northern California in the sports information directors poll. TC is 10th and 4th. The poll came out on Sept. 30. Since then Fresno has played six matches and Taft five.
