Taft College dropped a nail biter on Wednesday at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria. Emilio Velez took the loss, tossing 2.1 innings, and surrendering 3 runs on 1 hit and 2 walks.
Micah McCulley tossed 4 solid innings out of the pen allowing just 1 run on 4 hits.
Alec Olsen and Kyle Gaura both went 2-for-4 with an RBI to lead the Cougars offensively.
Taft College plays again on Saturday at home against Oxnard at 1:00 pm. Cassius Shy will have the ball. The conclusion of the February 2nd game at Oxnard will take place prior.
