On Tuesday, Taft traveled to LA Pierce for their first away game of the 2017 season. Taft managed 8 runs on 8 hits but could not pitch and play defense efficiently enough to get the win.
Cougar pitchers allowed a total of 12 walks and 2 hit batters. Feshman starter Mark O'Connor allowed 3 runs on 6 walks while striking out 4. Kyler Shiflett took the loss. Shiflett surrendured 4 runs without collecting an out in the 4th.
On the offensive side, Kaivon Kealoha went 2-for-3 with an RBI and 6 other Cougars managed 1 hit.
Bryan Santiago, Dominic Tating, Aaron Page, and Will Moore all got work out of the pen in the late innings.
