Taft College freshman Alona Chapman was named the Central Valley Conference Defender of the Year. 

Capman, originally out of Antelope High School in Lancaster, helped anchor a Cougar defense that posted 13 shutouts this season. She also scored two goals and added two assists on the season.

Taft went 15-5-2 overall, finished third in the CVC at 8-3-1, and qualified for the Northern California Regional Playoffs.
