Abygail Olejnik, Women's Volleyball

As one of two returning sophomores on the spring 2021 Taft College women’s volleyball team, head coach Kanoe Bandy will look to outside hitter Abygail Olejnik to provide leadership to a young Cougar squad.

“Abby is a young lady of character,” said Bandy. “She has been a strong leader to the freshman, particularly in the area of process and expectations.”

Olejnik, originally out of Bakersfield High School, also excels in the classroom. Despite being granted an additional year of eligibility because of COVID-19, Bandy says she is on track for graduation in May and should transfer on to a four-year college.

She plans to major in liberal arts and communications with an emphasis in elementary education. When not playing volleyball, Olejnik enjoys shopping, baking, and spending time with her family.
