Steven Gee
Title: Pitching Coach

Longtime Taft native Steven Gee begins his first year on the Taft College baseball coaching staff.

Steven graduated from Taft Union High School in 2013 where he was a high school standout in football, basketball, and baseball. After high school, Steven earned an athletic scholarship to attend Cal State Bakersfield as a pitcher on the Roadrunner baseball team.  During the 2014 season, Steven earned the role as a mid-week starting pitcher and finished his freshman season with the second lowest ERA on the CSUB pitching staff.

Steven earned the Saturday night starting pitcher role his sophomore year while helping lead CSUB to the most successful season in school history.  CSUB won the WAC championship and received their first and only bid to NCAA Regional Tournament at UCLA. He finished his sophomore year with a 2.55 ERA.

Steven started a successful junior as the Friday night starter but underwent a season ending injury due to Tommy John Surgery.  After intense rehabilitation, Steven started his senior year battling back from injury. During his senior year, he had many different roles on the pitching staff from mentoring younger pitchers and leading by example on the field.

Coach Gee graduated from Cal State Bakersfield in 2018 with a degree in liberal arts and a minor in history. Along with his coaching duties, Steven will also teach several weight training classes at Taft College.
