MONTEREY – Sophomore Precious Ramos totaled 20 points over two games to lead Taft College at the Monterey Peninsula College Tournament on Dec. 16-17. The Cougars suffered a pair of losses at the two-day event, falling 73-38 to Lassen Community College on Friday and dropping an 81-41 contest to College of the Siskiyous on Saturday.
Ramos led Taft with 12 points and added 7 rebounds against Lassen while Imani Pugh Tyler and Aviana Perez scored 7 points each. Valerie Tapia had a team-high 8 rebounds to with 5 points.
On Saturday, Sara Alvarez scored 9 points to lead the Cougars. Tapia added 8 points and 6 assists, while Ramos also chipped in with 8 points. Perez posted 6 points and 4 rebounds.
Taft fell to 2-12 overall on the season and returns to action on Dec. 30 when it returns to MPC to take on Monterey Peninsula College at 3 p.m.
