Nathan Hunter
Title: Assistant Coach

Assistant baseball coach Nathan Hunter grew up in Clive, Iowa.  At the high school level, he was a three-year varsity player as a catcher. He earned first-team all-state honors as a junior and was rated as a top-8 high school baseball player in the state of Iowa.

Having had a successful high school career, Nathan then attended Longview Community College in Missouri where he played catcher for two years and was a NJCAA Rawlings All-American after hitting .366 with 22 home runs, 26 doubles, and 71 RBI in just 75 games.

He then continued his college career transferring to Southeastern Louisiana University, a NCAA D1 program in Hammond, Louisiana. Nathan graduated from Southeastern with a degree in general studies and a concentration in kinesiology. He is currently working on a masters in exercise science at Concordia University in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Nathan’s coaching responsibilities at Taft College will include working with catchers, outfielders and base running. Nathan is married to the former Elizabeth McMurray.
