Title: Assistant Coach

J.L. Buchanan serves as the Taft College hitting instructor and outfield coach, he will also help out with recruiting student-athletes to Taft. Buchanan comes to Taft College from West Hills College where he spent 2014-2017 as an assistant coach for the Falcons.
During his first two years at West Hills College he served as the pitching coach and his last two years there he was the teams hitting instructor. 
During the summer, Buchanan is also the field manager and general manager for the Colorado Cyclones of the Mile High Collegiate Baseball League. The Cyclones have won the last three league championships which qualified them to partake in the prestigious NBC World Series in Wichita, Kansas.
Buchanan is a Greeley West High School graduate and played college baseball at Trinidad State Junior College and Colorado Christian University. He received his undergraduate degree from Colorado Christian University and his Master’s in Coaching and Sport Science from the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley.
