TAFT, CA – Local Veterans of the United States were recognized and honored at the Taft College Women's Volleyball match last Wednesday, November 13. The brave men and women who have given so much to protect our freedoms and our way of life were thanked for their services.
Their sacrifices, their dedication, and their strength are what allow us to enjoy athletic games, and the freedoms we sometimes take for granted. These aren't just people who served in the military, they are our heroes, our parents, brothers, sisters, and friends. Every day they sacrificed so we could be safe allowing us to enjoy entertainment. We want to honor them for that and for the protection they have provided.
We are proud to recognize the Veterans here in the city of Taft and on the campus of Taft College, who served this amazing country. Your service and courage have made an incredible impact on our country, and we are truly grateful for everything you have done. The following individuals were praised during a portion of the volleyball match showing the appreciation for these brave men and women:
Bruce Ferguson- Marines, Todd- Army, Don Mickey- Navy
An athletic appreciation was given a very special thank you to someone who is a big part of our Taft College family. Bruce Ferguson, our athletic trainer, has been with the college for many years, always working hard behind the scenes to make sure our athletes stay healthy and strong. But what you might not know about Bruce is that he's also a Marine who served this country with honor. Bruce, thank you for your service to our nation, and for everything you do for our athletes and our college. We are incredibly lucky to have you with us.
To all our veterans, thank you once again for your service. We can never fully repay the sacrifices you have made. So, for now and always, we want you to know how much we appreciate and respect everything you have done.
