TAFT, CA – On Friday October 18, Taft College Women's Volleyball faced West Hills College Coalinga at their home court. The Lady Cougars swept Coalinga earlier this season and were looking to win again for the second round of conference play.
Taft College had a strong start, winning the first 2 sets, (25-22, 15-15), but the Falcons were not going down that easy and came back to win the third set 18-25. TC came back even stronger to take the fourth and final set 25-18 to secure another win.
Grace Witcher had 18 kills, Ariana Helbling had 24 assists and Shyanne Yamada had 20 digs. As a team the Lady Cougars had 43 kills, hitting a .239.
"Tonight was such a big team accomplishment as we secured the 20th win of our season against a very competitive team on the road. This team continues to amaze me every day. We are playing very well together and playing at a very high level. I'm excited to watch us continue to grow through the second half of our conference," said TC Head Volleyball Coach Mallori Rossi.
Taft will play Reedley College and Merced College this upcoming week at home. October 23 against Reedley College will be the Pink Out game that brings about Breast Cancer Awareness. Admission is free if you are wearing a pink ensemble.
