NORCAL PLAYOFFS BRACKET

The 2022 Taft College women's volleyball season will continue into the postseason. On Thursday, the Cougars received the No. 13 seed for the upcoming Northern California Regional Playoffs. Brackets were announced by the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) for both the north and south regions.

Taft is set to host No. 20 Mendocino College a first-round playoff game on Saturday (Nov. 19) at 1 p.m.

Ticket prices for the CCCAA postseason event at the Taft College Gym are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old.

Taft recently wrapped up an impressive regular season under second-year head coach Mallori Rossi. The Cougars finished third in the highly-competitive Central Valley Conference with a 12-4 mark and enter the playoffs with a 16-9 overall record. The Cougars are making their first postseason appearance since 2013.

Mendocino is 15-5 overall and finished in second place in the final Bay Valley Conference standings at 10-2.

The winner of Saturday's contest will advance to a second-round match at No. 4 College of San Mateo on Tuesday (Nov. 22). Three wins are needed by Taft to advance the CCCAA Women's Volleyball State Championships, scheduled for Dec. 2-4 at Fresno City College in Fresno.
