The 2021 regular-season came to a close for the Taft College women's volleyball team following a 3-0 (25-18, 25-23, 25-21) Central Valley Conference defeat by College of the Sequoias in Visalia on Friday night.

Jada Dias and Kaimana Botelho-Patoc paced the offense while Kayla Iwata was solid on both ends of the court. TC also got nightly contributions from Avianna Isisaki, Della Sedillo, and Morgan Pulido.

In the final match against COS, Botelho-Patoc had 16 kills and 12 digs while Dias posted 14 kills and 10 digs. Iwata led Taft with 32 assists and 15 digs.

Isisaki had 11 digs, Sedillo added 7 digs and 2 blocks, and Pulido contributed 13 digs and 4 blocks.

Despite the loss, the Cougars can be proud of what they've accomplished. With just six players on the active roster, Taft completed an impressive first season for new head coach Mallori Rossi. TC ended regular season with a 13-8 overall record and finished third in Central Valley Conference at 12-4.

The Cougars still have a shot at the postseason. Seedings and matchups for the upcoming Northern California Regional Playoffs will be announced next week.
