Cougars’ Lauren Pau-De Santos named State Scholar-Athlete

Taft College standout Lauren Pau-De Santos has been named a 2019 State Scholar-Athlete by the California Community College Women's Volleyball Coaches Association (CCCWVCA) following an impressive freshman season on the court as well as in the classroom.

The CCCWCA named a record 110 student-athletes from 28 colleges as 2019 State Scholar-Athletes. The requirement was a minimum 3.5 grade point average.

The Honolulu, Hawaii native was an All-Central Valley Conference honorable mention selection for the Cougars last fall. From the outside hitter position, Pau-De Santos led TC with 193 kills and totaled 269 digs with 13 blocks.

She compiled a 3.5 GPA during her first year at Taft. Pau-De Santos was one of just 12 players from the Central Valley Conference named to the State Scholar-Athlete list.
