Taft College vs Sequoias

Taft College took on College of Sequoias Wednesday night. It was a long battle with Taft carrying on their winning streak in 5 sets. In set 1 Cougars were up 21-15 and came short of a win, making them realize the long road ahead of them but they wanted it. In set 2 the Cougars led by 6 points until College of Sequoias caught up to the challenge, but Taft fought hard winning set 2 25-23. As the game goes on in set 4, Taft College had a number of errors giving College of Sequoias the momentum to win 19-25, taking this game to 5 sets. In set 5 the Cougars knew they had to focus in and be fundamentally sound to win and they did, beating College of Sequoias 15-6. The service leaders of this game were Emily Salazar with 12 points and 3 aces, followed by Erin Fujitani with 12 points and 1 ace and Allison Mizener with 10 points and 1 ace. Erin Fujitani led with 23 digs, followed by Madison Dougherty with 16 digs and Allison Mizener with 14 digs. The Cougars kill leaders were Jazlyn Bulatao and Madisen Dougherty with 11 kills apiece followed by Erin Fujitani and Luse Lumas with 10 kills each. Emily Salazar had 48 assists. At the end of the night the Cougars left it all on the court ending the night with a win. Taft College will take on Merced College Friday 10/27/17 at 6pm.
