The Taft College women's soccer team is returning to the postseason for the fifth straight season. On Monday, the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) released the brackets for the upcoming Northern California Regional Playoffs.

The Cougars received the No. 12 seed for the playoffs and will host No. 21 Butte College in a first-round game on Wednesday (Nov. 16) at 1 p.m.

Ticket prices for the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) postseason game are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old.

The Cougars enter the postseason with a 13-4-3 overall record and finished third in the Central Valley Conference with a 9-2-3 mark. Last season, Taft played Cabrillo College to a scoreless tie but lost in penalty kicks to end its season in the first round of the playoffs.

Butte is 10-8-1 overall and took second place in the final Golden Valley Conference standings at 8-2.

The winner of Wednesday's contest will advance to Round 2 to play at No. 5 Fresno City College on Saturday (Nov. 19). Four wins are needed by Taft to advance to the 2022 CCCAA State Championships on Dec. 2 & 4 at American River College in Sacramento.
