NorCal Regional Playoffs Bracket

The road to the women's soccer state championships begins this week for the Taft College women's soccer team. On Tuesday, the Cougars received the No. 11 seed for the upcoming Northern California Regional Playoffs.

No. 11 Taft will travel to No. 6 Cabrillo College on Saturday (Nov. 20) for a Round 1 playoff game in Aptos. Game time is TBA.

Ticket prices for the California Community College Athletic Association (CCCAA) postseason game are $12 for general admission and $8 for all identified students, faculty, staff, senior citizens age 60 and over, and children under 12 years old. Fans should check with the home team regarding any spectator policy at its facility.

The Cougars enter the postseason riding a four-game winning streak and are 15-5-1 overall. TC finished third in the Central Valley Conference with an 8-3-1 mark. Taft has outscored its opponents by a 43-18 margin this season and has posted 11 shutouts. The Cougars will be making their fourth consecutive postseason appearance, dating back to 2017.

Cabrillo brings a 10-2-5 overall record into Saturday's game and was co-champions of the Coast Conference South Division at 7-0-3. Saturday's contest will mark the first meeting of the season between the two squads.

The winner of Saturday's game will face either No. 3 seed Sierra College (14-3-1) or No. 14 Modesto Junior College (12-8-1) in Round 2 on Tuesday, Nov. 23. Three wins are needed by the Cougars to advance to the CCCAA Soccer State Championships on Dec. 3 and 5 at Mt. San Antonio College in Walnut.
