Cougars shut out at COS

A late-season slide continued for the Taft College women's soccer team on Friday. Facing a College of the Sequoias squad that was winless in Central Valley Conference action, the Cougars couldn't find the back of the net in a 2-0 loss at home.

The Cougars are winless over their last five games and with Friday's set back fell to 8-8-3 overall and 3-4-1 in conference play. Taft currently sits in a third-place tie with West Hills College Lemoore with two games to play. The Cougars close out the season next week with 1 p.m. home matches against CVC-leading Clovis Community College on Tuesday (Nov. 12) and Fresno City College on Friday (Nov. 15) who are both tied at 6-1-1.

On Friday, Maria Corral knocked in pair of goals for Sequoias (7-8-3, 1-6-1 CVC) to lead the Giants to the win.
