Women's Soccer Ends in 3-3 Tie

The women's soccer team traveled to Clovis to take on Santa Rosa Jr. College for their first game of the season on Wednesday. The Cougars tied with Santa Rosa with a final score of 3-3. The first goal of the game came in the 32nd minute from Taft on a cross from Victoria Bojorquez and a finish by Zulma Flores. A set play led to the second goal by the Cougars with Bri-Leigh Snow taking a free kick and the ball hitting the crossbar but Brooke Hamer was there to score the goal. In the second half Taft's Maria Jimenez scored the third goal putting the Cougars up 3-0. The last fifteen minutes of the game saw a rally by Santa Rosa as they fought back to tie up the game with two quick goals and a penalty kick.

Taft will head to the College of the Desert on Tuesday, September 4 for a 4:00 pm showdown.
