Taft College soccer teams split non-conference matches with visiting Santa Barbara City College on Tuesday.
The women opened the home doubleheader on a positive note by scoring the first goal, but the more physical Vaqueros put four unanswered shots into the net to spoil things for the home team.
The men, however, continued to be impressive in the early going by defeating for the second time their SBCC counterparts, this time by a 3-1 margin. Taft won 4-1 at Santa Barbara on Aug. 29.
