The Lady Cougars started the season off with a win. Sophomore Kaleigh Irey won the Modesto Invitational with a card-off win. Kaleigh shot an 81 to win her 1st college tournament. Taft High School graduate Sierra Pilgrim started her career off with a par but then had a little trouble on a course she had never seen and shot 94 to finish 30th. The Lady Cougars start conference play next week with tournaments in Fresno at Fig Garden Golf Course on Sept. 4 and at Kings River Country Club on Sept. 6.
