TAFT, CA – Taft College traveled to the College of the Desert last Saturday, December 2 to defeat the Lady Roadrunners 75-32.
In a one-sided dominant game, Taft led in every statistical category. The Lady Cougars edged their opponent 32-14 points in the paint, 25-4 points off turnovers, 8-4 second chance points, 6-4 fast break points, 36-7 bench points, outrebounded them 47-34 and caused 32 turnovers.
Freshman Alyah Blackwater had a career high with a game high 17 points, along with 6 rebounds and 4 assists. Brandy Edwards was shy 1 rebound of a double double with 16 points and 9 rebounds.
After going on a two game losing streak, the Cougars recouped with the win improving their overall record to 7-3.
Taft will travel to Santa Maria, CA for a crossover starting on Friday, December 8 when they play host Allan Hancock College at 5:00 pm, and Los Angeles Trade Tech on Saturday at 3:00 pm.
