The preliminaries are over so the REAL season begins Wednesday for the Taft College women's basketball team when the Cougars host powerhouse College of the Sequoias in the Central Valley Conference opener.
Tipoff in the Al Baldock Cougar Sports Center on the TC campus is at 6 pm.
The Cougars have a tough assignment.
Sequoias will come to town with an impressive 15-2 non-conference record while the Cougars have struggled in the preseason.
Taft is a 3-10 record after Satruday afternoon's 86-66 win in a non-league game against Hartnell College.
After opening with the Sequoias, the Cougars will entertain Reedley (8-7) on Saturday, also at 6 pm.
Other CVC teams include Fesno City (12-5), West Hills-Lemoore (4-9) and Porterville (3-11).
