Taft College will put the finishing touches on what has been a long and challenging women's basketball season when the Cougars host their final two Central Valley Conference games.

On Wednesday, defending conference champion Fresno City College, (7-3 CVC, 19-9 overall and ranked 9th in northern California and 16th in the state) will come to town and on Saturday Reedley (7-4, 15-12) will round out the regular season.

Both games in the Al Baldock Cougar Sports Center have a 6 p.m. tipoff.

Last Saturday the Cougars dropped a 74-57 conference game at West Hills College in Lemoore.

The Cougars (2-8 CVC, 8-16 overall) suffered through a cold shooting night, making just 28 percent (18-of-65) from the field.  They were better at the free throw line, making 16 of 23.

TC tried to rattle Lemoore's tight defense with outside shooting, mostly three-pointers.

However, they managed just 5-of-20 from behind the arc.  Emilee Davidson had the most success with 3-of-4.

Center Kennedy Kunce and guard Carrie Graham led the Cougars with 14 points each.

Graham, a freshman, was 6-of-11 from the field and 2-of-4 from the line while Kunce was 4-of-12 and 6-of-8 respectively.

Kunce led the Cougars with 10 rebounds and blocked a shot.

Davidson scored 13 points on 4-of-11 from the field and 2-of-2 from the line and had five rebounds, four blocked shots and a steal.

Amber Vaughn scored eight points, grabbed three rebounds and had a steal.

Synclaire Lucas scored five points and had an assist and Angie Banks scored three points, had five assists and three steals.

West Hills (6-4, 18-8) led at halftime 36-25.
