TAFT, CA – Ainsley Webber of Edmonton, Alberta in Canada has given her verbal commitment to attend Taft College and play for the Softball Cougars for the 2024-2025 season.
Webber attended St. Francis Xavier High School, while playing as a left-handed catcher and middle in fielder. Webber's statistics include a batting average of .380, on base percentage of .450, and on base plus slugging percentage of .750.
Taft College Softball Head Coach Amanda Clark remarked, "We think she will be a great addition to our program!"
Ainsley also commented on her commitment, "I have been playing softball since I was 6 years old, but I've been on the field my whole life watching my dad and brothers play, plus watching my dad umpire. I'm most excited about coming to Taft to experience a team with girls I don't know because up here you know everyone your age. I chose Taft because I wanted a place with dorms and I love the idea of playing in California, because I love water and the ocean."
