Taft College softball began conference play today with a double header at home vs the Porterville College Pirates. Taft took a tough loss in the first game 6-20 but came back with a win in the second game 9-3.
Jocelyn Reyes threw 12 innings overall. Andrea Garner pitched 2 innings. Alyssa Garcia and Allie Dobbs both hit home runs. Alyssa also had impressive diving catches in centerfield.
The first game was a tough one, the Cougars got lots of good base hits. However, they could not execute and finish off the innings, leaving girls on base. The second game was a good change. They executed on offense and got the win over Porterville. The Cougars are looking to beat the Pirates the next time they face each other on April 5th at Porterville.
