Taft racks up nine All-CVC men’s soccer awards

The Taft College men's soccer team was rewarded for its Central Valley Conference championship season with nine All-CVC postseason awards.

The Cougars earned five of the conference's top awards. Sophomore defender Kemmich Uribe was named conference co-Most Valuable Player, sophomore Brian Trujillo was one of three selected Midfielder of the Year, sophomore Jamie Tiscareno was honored as Goalkeeper of the Year, Anthony Santano was tabbed one of five Freshmen of the Year, and Angelo Cutrona was named the CVC Coach of the Year.

Selected first-team All-Central Valley Conference for the Cougars were sophomore midfielder Steven Fuentes, sophomore forward Aldo Pantoja, freshman forward Omar Marquez, and sophomore forward Ebubechukwu Ekpemogu.

Taft recently completed one of its finest seasons in school history. The Cougars advanced to the CCCAA State Championships Final Four and captured a share of the Central Valley Conference championship. TC closed the season with a 16-4-3 overall record and went 7-1-2 in conference play.
