Cougars win fourth straight, beat West Hills Lemoore 4-0

TAFT – Taft College cruised to its fourth straight victory, beating visiting West Hills Lemoore College by a final score of 4-0 on Friday.

The Cougars currently sit in a first-place tie with Fresno City College on top of the Central Valley Conference standings at 5-1. TC has won seven of its last eight games to improve to 11-3-1 overall.

Sophomore Ebubechukwu Ekpemogu tallied a goal and an assist to help lead Taft to Friday's win.

Four different Cougars scored in the contest. Carlos Lopez gave TC a 1-0 advantage with his goal in the 15th minute and Omar Marquez made it a 2-0 contest after he scored in the 25th.

The score remained 2-0 all the way until the 75th minute when Kemmich Uribe scored off the assist from Ekpemogu. And Ekpemogu closed out the contest with the final goal in the 88th minute.

Angel Navarro, Also Pantoja, and Moises Cisneros all were credited with assists. Jaime Tiscareno picked up the shutout victory in goal for the Cougars, their third straight and 10th of the season.

Just four games remain in the regular season for the Cougars. They are back in action on Tuesday (Nov. 1) when they travel to Clovis Community College for a 3 p.m. Central Valley Conference game.
