It was a bumpy first half for the Cougars on Tuesday against Clovis Community College.

It seemed that both teams had an equal amount of possession. Due to the many shots that Clovis had taken, goalkeeper Jaime Tiscareno (#1) made multiple game-changing saves. There was also a lot of playing out from the back three defenders Aldo Pantoja (#2), Gabriel Soto (#3), and Kemmich Uribe (#5).

In the second half, the Cougars definitely came in with a different mindset which led them to staying on Clovis' side a majority of the 45 minutes. Anthony Santano (#7) played a significant role in giving Clovis a hard time possessing due to his constant pressure.

The Cougars began taking shots outside of the eighteen and that's how Angel Navarro(#12) was able to ping it into the back of the net against Clovis. After the first goal, the Cougars continued to attack and due to a 1v1 against the keeper, Omar Marquez (#24) guided the ball into the net.

After a battle with the left defender resulted in a foul against Steven Fuentes (#10), the Cougars earned a penalty kick which was taken and scored by Alexander Castrejon (#21).

To conclude, Taft ended the game with a 3-0 score and another win on their record. Catch them on Friday, October 7th when they get on the road to play Fresno City College at Fresno for a 1:30 pm start.
