LEMOORE – No. 18 state-ranked Taft College posted its sixth shutout of the season after blanking West Hills College Lemoore on the road by a final score of 2-0 on Friday in both teams' Central Valley Conference opener.

The win improved the Cougars to 6-2-1 overall and 1-0 in the CVC.

It's been an up and down season for TC but the Cougars appear to be back on the upswing. Taft won its first four games, all by shutout, before going winless over its next three (two losses, one tie). But prior to Friday, the Cougars bounced back with a 4-0 victory over Chaffey College.

On Friday, Moises Cisneros got Taft on the board in the 20th minute with his goal off the assist from Omar Marquez. The Cougars sealed the victory with an unassisted goal in the 85th minute by Brian Trujillo.

Jaime Tiscareno played well in goal to post the shutout.

The Cougars return to action on Tuesday (Oct. 4) when they host Clovis Community College in a 6 p.m. Central Valley Conference game.
