LONG BEACH – Two games, two wins for the Taft College men's soccer team. On Tuesday, the Cougars continued their solid start to the season as they came away with a 1-0 victory on the road at Long Beach City College.

The two squads battled during a scoreless first half with Long Beach (1-1) outshooting the Cougars 5-1 over the opening 45 minutes. TC turned up the intensity in the second and finally broke through in the 78th minute.

Sophomore Brian Trujillo's goal off the assist from sophomore Moises Cisneros would be the game's lone score and proved to be the game-winner.

Overall, Long Beach outshot Taft 10-6 for the game but sophomore Jaime Tiscareno totaled four saves in goal to post his second straight shutout to open the season.

Taft (2-0) returns to action on Friday (Sep. 2) and will host Los Angeles Mission College in its home opener at 4 p.m.
