Cougars look to build on impressive 2018 season

The Taft College men's soccer team is coming in strong as the squad returns after compiling a great record during the 2018 season. The Cougars ended ranked No. 7 in the nation and fifth in the state with an overall record of 17 wins, 3 losses, and 3 ties. Taft outscored its opponents by an impressive 46-10 margin on the season.

Players returning to the Taft College soccer program in 2019 are sure to leave their marks as they approach the final year of this outstanding program. Our first returner is no stranger to the field, as he captains the team this year, Uriel Gandara (defender). Johan Rodriguez (forward) gives us a dynamic attack.  Alexis Osorio (goalkeeper) also returns to the field to give us stability in the goal.

The men's soccer team is versatile in every aspect of the field. Having players such as Gandara and Enrique Gomez marshalling the defense, Taft will be well-balanced and strong in the back. Ronaldo Valderrama is sure to give opponents trouble, keep the same energy up top.

The Taft men's soccer team is looking forward to rising to the challenge and facing the top teams in the State of California. Taft has never shied away from competition and this year is no different as Taft plays against several top teams in the state.
