The Taft College men's soccer team got their first conference win on Tuesday against West Hills College-Lemoore. After controlling the majority of the first half the Cougars put away their first goal in the 43rd minute when freshman Alan Perez's pressure created a turnover that led him to score his first goal of the season.
In the second half the Cougars doubled their lead when freshman Leopoldo Hernandez scored the PK that sophomore Marcos Moreno drew in the 60th minute.
The Cougars keeper did not have much action all game but came up big on a free kick late in the game keeping the golden eagles scoreless.
The Cougars (6-4-2) next game is against CVC opponent College of Sequoias (7-4) in Taft on Friday.
