After two straight ties, the Cougar men's soccer team put up another in the win column Wednesday with a 1-0 home victory over Los Angeles Mission College.
Christian Garcia, a freshman forward from Ridgeview High, drilled a shot into the net in the 35th minute off a pass from another Bakersfield freshman, Francisco Rodriguez (Bakersfield High).
The Cougars (6-1-2) open Central Valley Conference play today with a trip to Fresno to take on the undefeated Fresno City College Rams (8-0-2), ranked No. 2 in the state. The Cougars are ranked No. 6.
