TAFT, CA – Game three of the series, hosted in Reedley, saw plenty of action as both teams scored a combined 24 runs in the game. Taft College Baseball jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first after a Jesus Gonzalez laser over the right field wall. Scoring stayed at a stall until Reedley College broke it open in the third, putting up 4 runs in the third and another one in the fourth to make it 5-1. Taft responded with 3 runs in the fifth, after an Odnal Rivera double in the gap, and 4 in the sixth due to an Owen Hayes home run, switching the score to 8-5 in favor of Taft. The Cougars added three more runs in the eighth inning, but Reedley kept clawing back and they scored 2 in the seventh and 3 of their own in the bottom of the eighth making the score 11-8 Taft. Reedley could score no more after Kaleb Hay came in and shut the door, in the ninth picking up his first save of the year. The final score was 14-10 Taft.

Next Cougar Baseball game is on Wednesday March 27 in Compton. Next Cougar home game is on April 2 against Fresno City College.
