Story by Brendan Hamilton

TAFT, CA – A bright and beautiful day in sunny Taft, California saw the Taft College Cougars Baseball Team take on the Reedley College Tigers. Going into the game Taft was 10-11 overall and 5-5 in conference play. The game started as planned for the Cougars on defense as a bullpen game saw Keigo Wajima, Carter Frei, and Kam Sparrowhawk throw up 0 run innings. In addition, a Jesus Gonzalez sac fly gave the Cougars the lead in the bottom of the third. However, Reedley answered with two runs in the top of the fourth and they kept that momentum into the latter half of the game. Reedley put up 2 in the sixth, 1 in the seventh, and 2 in the eighth to gain a 7-1 advantage, which would end up being the final score.

Next Cougar Baseball game is on Saturday, March 23 in Reedley. Next Cougar home game is on April 2 against Fresno City College.
